Diagnose Folders

There are times when the folder you have configured in Auto-Mate (Source Folder, Move To Folder) loose their synchronization with the Outlook folders. This can happen when a major change occurs with you mailbox storage file. Exchange-based mailboxes are less prone to these issues, but problems can still happen if the Exchange server version goes though a major version change. For PST-based folders, this problem occurs more frequently as users tend to move the location of PST files, and or upgrades in Microsoft Office can cause these problems. Auto-Mate has a built-in tool to check for problems with folder synchronization and the ability to make corrections to the problems in bulk.

The Sync Folders dialog can be accessed from the Rule Manager Tools ribbon tab, Sync Folders button. The Sync Folder dialog appears as the image below:

The fields and controls and their associated functions can be summarized as follows:

Auto Correct Button

Select one or more rules to correct, then click the Auto Correct button to fix folder synchronization problems.

Source Root Button

Use this button to change the Source root folder for all selected rules.

Move To Root Button

Use this button to change the Move To root folder for all selected rules.

Fix Source Folder Button

Use this button to manually correct the Source folder.

Fix Move To Folder Button

Use this button to manually correct the Move To folder.

Make Inactive Button

Clicking this button will make all the selected rules inactive.

Delete Button

Clicking this button will delete all the selected rules. A warning dialog will appear first to confirm your choice.

Close

Closes the window.
