Remove Duplicates Rule (PRO)

Previous Next

This rule will delete duplicate messages based on certain match criteria you select. The duplicate copies found will be moved to the Deleted Items folder

The source folder will be auto populated based on the message selected in your Outlook folder tree. You can then choose the properties that must be exactly the same to indicate a duplicate. You can select one or more of the following properties:

Sender Name - Compares the sender address.

Sent Date/Time of message - Compares the sent date and time of the message.

Received Date/Time of message - Compares the received date and time of the message.

Message Subject - Compares the message subject.

Message Body - Compares the message body.

Recipients - Compares the message recipients.

Internet Message ID (Unique ID) - Compares the Internet Message ID for SMTP messages or a unique ID for Exchange messages.

Since duplicate rules general take some time to execute, they should be run once a day. Choose the day(s) and time the rule should be executed.

After the rule is created, you can rename the rule, test the rule, or view the detailed rule property settings. The dialog will appear similar to the following image when the rule has been created:

Note: the more properties selected for comparison, the greater the accuracy but slower the performance.
